This Sunday: Ravensbourne River Clean-Up, 10am- 1pm



Meet in the Park at the end of Malyons Road, close to the Adventure Playground and curly railway bridge. Come suitably dressed. The well-known waterway charity Thames 21 will start off with a short safety talk and provide equipment including waders and boots.

Invasive Non-Native Species Training on April 21, 10am-3pm

Thames21 provide a one-day training module to give an overview of a serious issue facing many of London’s waterways: the presence of invasive non-native species (‘INNS’).  What are they?  Why are they a problem?  This training will talk about how to identify and contain several locally occurring varieties.

Repairs to River Ravensbourne Weir

Some good news: the repair of the weir and bankside is going to go ahead and EA permissions are being sought for the works currently. The anticipated time scale is as follows:
  • End of March – submit Methodology incl. measures to address pollution risks, silk risks, flood risks, daily EA flood alerts.
  • End of April – Flood Defence Consent approval.
  • Mid-May – commence works.
  • Mid-June – complete works.
Following the works there will need to be additional soft landscaping and planting which Ladywell Fields User Group may contribute to.
