Get involved!

Everyone is welcome.

We have a number of volunteer opportunities in the park. Most of the sessions are posted on our Facebook page so it's a good idea keep an eye on this. We organise group sessions with volunteers in these main areas:
  • Looking after trees in the community orchard, tiny forest and other trees we have planted
  • Planting and laying for hedges for their wildlife value
  • River clean-ups, particularly focused on the weir by the hospital
  • Glendale do routine litter management in the park, but in addition we occasionally clear specific areas which have become a concern
Please email ladywellfields@yahoo.co.uk if you'd like to join any of these group activities. We have a risk assessment in place which requires us all to wear gloves suitable for gardening work. You need to bring your own gloves, but other equipment is provided.

Joining one of our User Group meetings is a great way to understand the current projects we are involved in and meet other park users. Meetings are normally on a Wednesday at 7pm at the RUSS Community Hub, 12 Church Grove, Ladywell SE13 7UU. Our forthcoming meetings are:
  • 17th June 2026. For this one we will meet beforehand at the cafe for a walk through the park together. We hope to be joined by representatives from Glendale and the Council.
  • 16th September, including AGM
  • 2nd December, including Christmas social
  • 17th March 2027
  • 16th June, as a walk through the park
Notifications of meetings are sent by email - please drop us a line if you would like us to add you to the mailing list.
