Following consultation with the public and partners, the Ladywell Fields Action Group adopted a Nature Recovery Plan for Ladywell Fields 2026-36 in September 2026.
The Plan highlights the great opportunities to make the area even better for people and nature. It has an ambitious and wide-ranging programme of action to achieve this based on six themes:
- River and ponds
- Trees and hedges
- Meadows and insects
- Engaging Park Neighbours
- Communication
- Surveys
By improving the habitats and engaging more people, we aim to attract more wildlife to the park, including priority species such as Hedgehogs, Kingfishers and bats. It may be possible to reintroduce species such as Water Voles.
Ladywell Fields is classified as a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation. The Plan sets out strategies and actions for the next decade for more biodiversity and ecological health in Ladywell Fields. The target is to raise it to Metropolitan Importance status.
